During the Fall season, everyone
participates in the Marching Band performing during halftime at
home football games and competing at several field competitions.
Marching Band starts during the summer with SUMMER BAND CAMP,
and ends in December with our participation in the annual Laguna

The Marching Band consists of
Winds, Percussion, and the Auxiliary.
The Winds are all of the instruments that are blown
into, such as the trumpet and clarinet. The Winds are
sub-divided into woodwinds and brass.
Percussion is broken into two groups, Pit and Drumline.
Drumline is the section of Percussion that is mobile and
marches on the field, usually consisting of snare, bass,
and tenor drums. Pit describes the stationary percussion
also known as the front ensemble. Pit is usually set up
in the front of the field.
Auxiliary is term used to describe the ColorGuard during
Marching Band competitions. They provide the 'color' to
the music performance. The Guard will perform with
flags, rifles and sabers, depending on the theme of the
show. |
