Parent Information - Fund Raisers

We have individual fundraisers and group fundraisers. Individual fundraisers go directly against your child's account. The more you participate in individual fundraisers, the more revenue is generated (as a credit) toward your child's account. Group Fundraisers go towards the general music program funds.

We are constantly seeking new fund raisers, so attend a boosters meeting and share your idea!

Group Fundraisers

TailGates:
One of our most consistent fundraisers are the Tailgate events. Derived from the term, 'tailgate parties' referring to the practice of engaging in social eating/drinking at pre-game festivities at sporting and non-sporting events, Tailgate is the term used for the band boosters food concession stand.  Watch for information regarding our Fundraising Tailgates.

We open our famous Tailgate to the public in order to raise money for the general fund. The Tailgate cannot happen without the help of all of the Boosters. This is a wonderful opportunity to help raise money for the general fund, which ultimately reduces individual fees, and you also get to know other parents who have the same interest as you-- supporting your child and his/her interest in the Instrumental Music program!

Currently, we have concession fundraisers  slated with Destination Imagination(March 2009), AVMS Open House (May 2009),  our Drumline Competition at ANHS (Feb/Mar 2009), and Aliso Viejo's 4th of July celebration. If you know of other venues that might be beneficial for ANHSIMB to sign up for, please contact our TailGate Coordinator.

Family Dine Out Nights:
Through out the year we like to have a few family dine out nights that are also fundraisers. Usually local restaurants such as Souplantation, will let you hold a fundraiser and you make a certain percentage from sales when customers bring in a flyer. This is a great way for the group to get together and have fun.

ColorGuard and Percussion Winter Circuit Competition Shows:
In the Winter/Fall season, Drumline and ColorGuard will host competitions at ANHS. These events takes all of us (parents) to make it successful from parking attendants, ticket takers, competition schedule coordinators, concessions, etc. Proceeds from hosting the event(s) go towards our general fund.

Individual Fundraisers

Program Space Sales:
Program space sales is for ad space on our web site and programs throughout the year. You can sell ad spaces to any company that you patronize or buy a space to tell your child how proud you are of their accomplishments. 80% of every ad that you sell will go to your child's account. An updated flyer will be published shortly with more details.

SEE's Candy:
See's candy will be sold at 3 specific times during the school year to coincide with upcoming holidays. The Winter Sale starts in November and will be distributed in December. The Valentine Sale starts in Janaury and will be distributed in January. The Spring Sale will start in March and will be distributed in April.

Scrips:
Scrip is the best way to earn money with hardly any work at all. A percentage of each prepaid gift card that you purchase will be credited to your child's account. On the vendor list, you will see businesses where you shop all the time. You can use scrip for food, gifts, air flights, etc. You will be amazed at how quickly the money adds up.

Your extended family or friends may also order scrip to help earn money for your child's account. Visit the scrip web page for more details.

Community Discount Cards:
Community Discount cards are available for anyone who like to sell those. The cards sell for $10 and the profit for each card is $8. Contact Mr. Otani for more details.

e-Scrips:
Similar but different from scrips, escrip is another form of earning credit for the music program. Some major differences between scrips and escrips are: (1) no monies is paid up front for escrips purchases, (2) some extra work is required to register your name with our escrip groupid with the specific retailer, and (3) you must contact our Treasurer to associate your registration with your child for proper credit.

Don't ignore escrips. You can enroll at escrip.com. Our Group ID is 140712065.

Every time you use a card that you have enrolled, participating companies will make a donation which will be credited to your child's account. Ask your friends and family to participate. After you enroll, contact our Treasurer to add your name and your student's name (to credit the correct account) to our list.

Here are the Sign-up and Renewal instructions for Vons.

Ralph's e-scrip:
Ralph's grocery store has its own e-scrip program. When you shop there, just swipe your club card to earn credit for your child's account. Ask your friends and family to participate, too. Go to the Ralph's website to sign up. Our NPO (non-profit organization) number is 80845. After you enroll, contact our Treasurer to add your name, club card number and your student's name (to credit the correct account) to our list.
