Parent Information - Volunteers

TIME!
If there’s any one thing anyone can say about it, it’s that we all wish we had more it. Everyone has responsibilities that eat up our time.  A common quote we often say or hear: "Work has been so busy…I don’t even have time to take a lunch break.I have two other kids, and it seems like I’m always running someone to some activity.I have classes to study for. I take care of my parents". Time.

Common Cause: Your Child(ren):
The Booster organization is run strictly by volunteers.Yup, everyone you see…loading and unloading equipment, grocery shopping to feed the students, sewing uniforms and flags, cleaning uniforms, prepping the food and serving it, and cleaning up afterwards, driving the trucks, keeping the equipment running, meeting with others to make sure the organization is running smoothly…they’re all volunteers, and they’re just like you…our common interest is to support and create the best music experience possible for our children.

All Skills are Wanted:
There are so many jobs that need to be done.Some take skill, like being the Treasurer or running the website.Some take a little training, like how to prepare and serve 100 meals in half an hour (yes…we do!).Some take willingness to break sweat, like loading all of those instruments and equipment into trucks.Some take daring, like driving one of the trucks.Some take time, like the Tailgate coordinator organizing and prepping all of those meals.Some are herders, like the chaperones.Some help out, a little here, a little there. No job is too big or too small. And with many hands helping, the road is smoother for everyone.

The Best Kept Secret:
The Booster organization is non-profit organization registered 501(c)(3). What does that mean? Your volunteer time is tax-deductible, but see your tax accountant for the official rules.

Talk with the Booster Leadership about your skills and interests.
We’re sure to find a job for you that’s right up your alley!
