Aliso Niguel High School Instrumental Music Program is pleased to present our Aliso Niguel High School Band and ColorGuard Staff.


Name Biography
David Weinberg
Band Director
David Weinberg
David is a graduate of CSU Long Beach with a BM Degree and Teaching Credentials and is currently working on his Masters Degree at the American Band College in Ashland, Oregon.

David’s experience includes: assistant director at Mater Dei HS from 1983-1997, Band Director at Santa Margarita Catholic HS from 1997-2006, Instrumental Music Director at El Toro HS in 2006-2007 and Instrumental Music Director at JSerra Catholic HS in San Juan Capistrano from 2007-2009.

During the course of Mr. Weinberg’s career, his marching band programs won several championships, along with undefeated field seasons. Both his Wind Ensembles and Jazz Bands have also won numerous Superior ratings. David has also developed a very large Steel Drum Band that has performed at Downtown Disney, The Irvine Spectrum and the Orange County Performing Arts Center.

Mr. Weinberg also developed an elementary music program for several private schools in South Orange County. This program now provides music education for over 100 elementary and middle school students.

David has been an instructor for over 200 high school music programs and has designed over 1500 Field Shows for high school marching bands from all over the country. Mr. Weinberg is also currently a sought-after Drill Designer and his web-site for show design is: www.omegadrilldesigns.com

David has also written drill JSU Marching Southerners from Jacksonville Alabama from 2002-2008 and has written drill for the CSULB 49ers Marching Band while attending Long Beach State as a student.

Mr. Weinberg has also been written drill for various drum and bugle corps throughout the nation has also been a member of the Anaheim Kingsmen and the World Champion Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. David was also recently the Drill Designer and Staff member the Kingsmen Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps that performed at the 2007 DCI Championships in Pasadena, CA.
Mr. Weinberg has also has served as a judge for SCSBOA, DCW, WGASC and WGI. David is currently a member of SCSBOA, WBA, MENC and CMEA.

David currently resides in Mission Viejo with his Wife Hope and their children Danyell and Shay.

Jeff Sterrett
ColorGuard Caption Head
Jeff Sterrett
Jeff has been with ANHS since 2005, serving as Color Guard Caption Head.

He has been involved in marching band and color guard activities since 1982 as a performer, instructor, clinician, designer, and adjudicator. Originally from Indiana, he moved to Southern California in 2002.

His experience includes being the color guard director and visual coordinator for Jefferson High School’s marching band in Lafayette, Ind., from 1992 to 2000. During his time there, the Winter Performance Ensemble earned semifinalist status three times at the WGI World Championships and twice received the silver medal at Indiana High School Color Guard State Finals. Jeff also has worked with other color guard programs in Indiana, Ohio and Colorado, including serving as visual designer for the Indiana state champion Angola and Columbus North color guards.

He also served as Color Guard Caption Head for the Blue Knights from Denver, Colorado.
At Bear Creek, Colorado, the color guard was three time WGI World Championship finalists.
He also served as an adjudicator for the Colorado Bandmasters Association and the
Rocky Mountain Color Guard Association.

When coming to California, Jeff spent three seasons as the Color Guard Program and Visual Coordinator for Pacific Crest Youth Arts (Independent Open Class) Organization,and directorship of the Pacific Crest Winter Guard. The Pacific Crest Winter Guard was twice  named Winter Guard Association of Southern California (WGASC) class champions and Winter Guard International (WGI) World Championship finalists.

Vince has been working with our Drumline intermittently for the past several years. Vince works with several high schools and it is a pleasure to have him back.
